Cabrales-Arzola was dropped off at a close-by hospital about two hours after Giles was left on the sidewalk. She is at the moment in “critical condition and fighting for her life,” based on a GoFundMe arrange by Cilliers.

Cabrales-Arzola had heroin in her system, however Cilliers stated that neither girl would ever take the drug voluntarily.
