RCMP looking for Steinbach man who allegedly assaulted Mountie during traffic stop and drove away

RCMP are asking the general public to assist discover a needed man who allegedly assaulted a police officer during a traffic stop and drove away.

At about 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, Mounties in Steinbach, Man., stopped a car as a part of an ongoing investigation, RCMP mentioned in a information launch.

The alleged driver, Jordan Friesen, 26, is needed on three excellent warrants. 

When police stopped him and tried to position him underneath arrest, Friesen assaulted an officer and drove away, RCMP say.

Friesen is charged with assaulting a police officer, harmful operation of a motorcar, fleeing from police, failing to stop after an accident and working a car whereas prohibited, along with his earlier expenses of theft of a truck, breaking and getting into with intent and theft over $5,000.

Friesen is about 5 toes eight inches and 172 kilos, with brown hair and brown eyes.

RCMP say Friesen is taken into account armed and harmful, and members of the general public are requested to not strategy him, however fairly to name police instantly.
